TV Spotlight: Pink Collar Crimes

A new show called Pink Collar Crimes  recently premiered on CBS, and it tells true stories of women who have committed crimes. The first episode, "Minivan Mom Bank Robber," focused on Roxanne Pennock, a San Diego mother of five who robbed four banks in 2009. Roxanne's family was having financial trouble due to her addiction to pain pills, and Roxanne, who was working in accounts receivable at the time, falsified numbers in order to earn commissions. When she began to suspect that her boss was onto her, she confessed and was fired, and she was told that the company would press charges if she didn't pay the money back. Out of desperation, Roxanne soon began robbing banks. Pink Collar Crimes isn't the typical true crime show, and I found it much more enjoyable than most of the true crimes shows I've watched (all the brutal murders can get a little depressing, so watching a true crime show with no murder whatsoever was a nice change). As someone who is intereste

Follow in Jeffrey Dahmer's Footsteps (Literally)

Netflix recently added a travel show called Dark Tourist , and in episode 3, host David Farrier travels to Milwaukee to find out about their Jeffrey Dahmer-centric tourism industry. He takes the Cream City Cannibal tour offered by Hangman Tours, which offers morbidly curious customers a chance to see where Dahmer found seven of his victims. The episode was fascinating, so I wanted to share it here in case any of my fellow true crime aficionados are interested in watching it: Dark Tourist: United States Also, if you're planning on visiting Milwaukee any time soon, you can book the Cream City Cannibal Tour here: Hangman Tours From what I saw on Dark Tourist , this tour looks really informative and interesting, so check it out if you're into that sort of thing...and if you're reading this blog, I'm guessing you are. ; )

Married to a Serial Killer

You can't help but feel bad for women who find out that the man they love is a serial killer, but some women actually choose to marry men that have already been convicted of serial murder. I don't know what would possess a woman to marry a man who loves to kill, but Ted Bundy, Richard Ramirez, Kenneth Bianchi, and a few other monsters have gotten hitched while serving time for murder. Here's a list of several women (and one man) who married convicted serial killers: People Who Married Serial Killers After Their Convictions I know it's not my place to tell you what to do with your life, but seriously, don't marry a serial killer.

Movie Spotlight: Holy Hell

I recently listened to an episode of Hollyweird Paranormal that focused on the Buddhafield cult , and it was so interesting that I decided to watch  Holy Hell , a 2016 documentary by Will Allen, who was a member of the sadistic cult for 22 years. The Buddhafield cult was started by a man known as Michel in 1980s West Hollywood; Will Allen (whose sister was a member) joined in 1985 at the age of 22 when his mother kicked him out of the house for being homosexual. Since Allen was a film school graduate, he became the cult's documentarian, and that's how Holy Hell  came to be. Holy Hell includes captivating interviews with former Buddhafield members and illuminating footage taken during Allen's two decades in the group. Some of the things I found most interesting: -One night Michel told Allen that he "had been up all night arguing with God" and that Allen was fated to die in an accident but would be okay as long as he followed Michel's guidance. -Michel was
